Jumanji

In 1995, Keene was chosen to be the site of the film Jumanji. This film is about a board game that allows for magical and scary things to happen. It stars Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, David Alan Grier and Kirsten Dunst. Several towns' people were used as extras in the film. After the filming ended and the town was put back in order, the towns' people wanted a way for everyone to remember that the film was shot there. So shortly after the graffiti of a Parrish shoes advertisement was removed, it was put back on. The local barber shop also has a plaque in window stating "The Site of the film Jumanji."
